LALIZAS Hydrostatic Release Unit for EPIRB
LALIZAS Hydrostatic Release Unit (HRU) for EPIRB is activated in a depth of between 1.5 and 4m deep by hydrostatic pressure, releasing the EPIRB from the sinking vessel. It is made of glass reinforced nylon for extra protection against corrosion, designed & tested according to LSA requirements / MSC 81(70), as amended.
Having easy & simple installation, LALIZAS HRU for EPIRB requires no maintenance, while it needs replacement after 2 years from installation, or 4 years after manufacture, whichever occurs first. The bolt (rod) must be replaced together with the HRU. LALIZAS HRU for EPIRB complies with most EPIRBs & is installed according to the EPIRB Manufacturer’s instructions.
To be used only with LALIZAS HRU bolt & nut for EPIRB (74580-LALIZAS Mounting Kit for Hydrostatic Release Unit for EPIRB) – available separately – .
Installation Instructions:
1. Remove the old HRU and the bolt & nut from the EPIRB and dispose of them.
2. Mark the expiry date on the new HRU.
3. Place the new HRU and the new bolt & nut and fasten.
Marking the Expiry Date:
The expiry date must be marked on the label of the HRU for EPIRB.
In order to mark the expiry date (month and year) of the unit, use a knife and scrape off the numbers indicating the month and the year, which is two years after installation.
